El Goonish Shive: crazy comic set in the modern-day, with weird "science" (ie, transformational technology, hammers, and humor). also, a squirrel-girl. hee.
No Rest for the Wicked: lovely story based on tons of fairy tales. gorgeous anime style and creepiness.
