Two days ago, I finished my last exam (W00T!) and made my way to my parents' house.

Yesterday, I finished the book I started thereafter, Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.

While I was reading this, I was at turns excited, dismayed, teary, torn, and at the very end, extremely angry. So angry that I sent a hateful text to the person who told me I had to read it. (Sorry about that, [livejournal.com profile] alexq.) You know how they cut up The Lord of the Rings trilogy not because the books were complete in themselves but basically because some publisher decided that they'd rather not get lawsuits from armless people who'd tried to read the thing all in one go? Well, you wouldn't, because I've just made that up, but that's certainly the impression you might get by the way that there's no true ending point at the end of either of the first two books.
In a similar fashion, Name of the Wind is the first book. I get the feeling that someone decided that seven hundred pages was enough for one go, might as well get it out there and see what people think.

The next part isn't out until April 2009.
*pines*

Anyone have any good fantasy recs until the next part is out?

(Yay break!)
